Mike Arp

Thank you for taking the time to visit the Laurel Bank Baptist Church website. Our desire is to grow closer to God through the study of His Word and closer to each other as we serve our Lord together. I hope you are able to find all the information that you need on the website. 
Brother Mike Arp is a native of Blount County and a graduate of William Blount High School (1985). In addition to his ministry work, Mike has been employed with Canon for over 30 years.  He and his wife, Cheryl, have been married for 32 years.
Cheryl, a 1984 graduate of Greenback High School, is a dedicated 8th-grade math teacher at Alcoa Middle School.
Mike announced his calling to ministry in 1998 and has since faithfully served in various leadership roles. Mike served as the pastor of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Loudon, TN, for 8 years, and at Corinth Baptist Church in Loudon for 5 years. Most recently, he served as pastor of Outreach Church in Maryville for almost 8 years. He earned his associate degree in Sacred Literature during his first pastorate. Mike grew up in Madison Avenue Baptist Church. The greatest event in his life happened when he was 16 years old, after
leaving a crusade where Bailey Smith had preached a sermon on the Wheat and the Tares, he fell under conviction of his sin and put his faith in Jesus Christ!
Outside of ministry, Mike enjoys hunting, hiking, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Cheryl shares his love for hiking—only when a waterfall is involved! She is also a passionate VOL fan and loves cheering on the University of Tennessee football team (when they are winning)!  They both have served as international missionaries in Africa and Brazil, as well as on mission trips across the United States.
With a strong sense of family, faith, and service, Pastor Mike and Cheryl look forward to embarking on this new journey alongside this new church family.
